Successfully complete this course and you will achieve the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety qualification.
Entry requirements
No health and safety knowledge is needed however NEBOSH recommends you have a minimum standard of English at Key Skills Level 2, GCSE or equivalent.
To successfully complete the course you will need to pass one open book examination and a practical assessment.
Examinations are held at selected times. Our tutors can recommend when you should sit them*.
For the practical assessment, you will need to conduct a risk assessment and submit a report.
The law says that every organisation must provide safe systems of working for their staff. To achieve this, many employ their own health and safety advisor.
Successfully complete this course and you could work in health and safety as part of your current role. Alternatively, you could become an advisor for an organisation.

Upon enrolment you receive access to our unique online learning platform and unit eBook(s), providing you with the learning resources you need.
You can start as soon as you want and progress through the course at your own pace. Your enrolment includes 2 years of course access1, so you can study when and where you choose. This flexibility makes it easy to fit learning around work and family commitments.
Once you successfully complete the first unit, you will progress onto the next unit.
To successfully complete the course you will need to pass one open book examination and a practical assessment.
Study length
You are able to start this course when you want and continue studying at your own pace. Many students are able to complete this course in approx. 6 months1.
1 Timescales are approximate and depend upon application and motivation. Your enrolment includes 2 years of course access. NEBOSH allows up to 5 years to complete all units for this course so your skills are relevant to the current legislation. If you need access beyond 2 years from enrolment, additional fees may apply.
